- Running around Table Mountain still~ (テーブルマウンテン). I’ll probably pull out soon and check Casnan but I do want to find the waystone first.

- Random aside: Since I don’t like the BGM to this area, I’m just listening to tunes from my iTunes library. 😛 I know. It’s blasphemy listening to non-Ys, non-Falcom music while playing an Ys game. But hey, Seiken Densetsu 3 music makes for fun background music in this area, especially Can You Fly Sister?.
. - Oh my! Spotted a memory fragment and also a Dulen chest~! The chest contains a 蒼樹のイヤリング which increases the amount of SP you receive while attacking.
. - Huh? This memory. It seems like Highland citizens are asking Adol about what his ideal type of girl is. >_> Oddly, I think the conversation was originally about some pikkard thing. ^^ DEF +1 is received after the flashback finishes.
. - Aw man. It actually happened — a log of wood from a harvest point actually dropped behind some environmental objects and no one can get to it. 😛
. - Ooh. At 61.6% explored once I reached the waystone.
. - Nothing new at the Casnan board.
There’s new armor though and I just bought some new weapons for some characters too just so I have them in inventory. ^^
. - Back in Highland. Forgot that I didn’t report back about the monster elimination quest. I also have some amethyst now so I’ll upgrade the Spirit Robe. I think it ups the speed of HP recovery. Oh, and the Enhance menu looks correct now as the other items I upgraded no longer show up.
. - Randomly feeding the Shining Pikkard. Gave it a Raparo Seed/Nut/Fruit (ラパロの実) and it instantly got the speech balloon with the 3 throbbing hearts. Of course, I got fur in return. Goddamn.
. - Man, I love being able to freely teleport to any waystone. Wish more RPGs had something like this instead of forcing players to run everywhere.
. - Continuing with Table Mountain, there’s a tent spot after the waystone. Adol dreams again and this time he’s running in a river. He eventually stops since he’s all tired. 😦 We find out that he’s running away from someone. D: And that someone … well, I think what he does to Adol is the reason Adol has amnesia. :X
. - Whoa! Sudden explosion of memory fragment locations on the map! (What are those red ones? D:) But … which way to go? I can go south or west. To the west, is the Forest of Ash (灰の森). Let me head back to the camp site and choose south and see where that leads! Hmmm. The Underground Forest (地下樹林帯). Since I’m here already, I might as well continue. ^^
. - Funny. I had one of the fragments pinpointed on the map but ended up going to another one. ^^ Anyway, < spoilers > a familiar face appears in this memory! *o* < /spoilers >. DEF +1~~
. - Went back a few steps to take the north route and ended up at a waystone and a new town! :0 Ignoring that and going after the other memory. That path leads to the Forest of Ash and waystone. Boss battle coming up?? I mean, it’s all quiet. … Well, so much for that idea. There’s a barrier. You get hurt if you touch it. I guess it’s back to the new town then.
. - Out of curiosity, I went back to the camp site and headed into the Forest of Ash that way to see if the barrier is present on that side as well and it is. But at least you won’t suffer damage since you can’t even reach the barrier. 😛
. - New town. (Oh wait, it’s a village.) New character. :3 Well, characters.

- Heheh. Frida reveals a secret about Dulen~! I don’t really consider this a spoiler since it’s not some earth-shattering, really important plot point or anything so here it is~ Dulen was born in Danan. As for the reason he kept it a secret from the party, he explains it, but I didn’t try to understand it. ^^;
. - So Frida tells Adol to visit the village chief and ends up being a guest member. I believe you’re stuck with Adol, Dulen, and Frida for this duration.
. - The lights in Danan look like memory orb things. :0
. - LOL. You meet this older lady and she refers to Dulen as “Dulen-chan”. Dulen tells her that he shouldn’t be referred to with that honourific anymore since he’s grown up. Someone in the party wonders who the lady is. Your choices are “Dulen’s mother?” or “Dulen’s lover?” ^O^;;;;;; Turns out she’s Frida’s mother. Whoops. Camilla (the mother) said something that caused an awkward atmosphere. Didn’t pay attention to what it was. ^^
. - Buh. The way Vanjo’s name is spelled in the game is different than on the official site.
. - Lots of explanation going on and then Frida leads the group to an altar where a spoiler object is kept.
. - Siiiiiiiiiigh. Why do I get the feeling Danan will end up in ruins later on? >_> “Oh, it’s safe here. We have this awesome, amazing, super cool barrier protecting it. Nothing can get to it.” Or something like that. Anyway, FORESHADOWING.

. - Hey! Why is this character here? And why the hell is she siccing this boss on us? Damn bitch. Oh, she wants the thing. Fucker. Like I’ll let you have it! (Maybe the story will force a failure? I shall see!)
. - Duh. The game gives you a chance to prepare for the fight. I left it as Adol, Dulen, and Frida and only until I started fighting that I realized I chose all melee characters. >_> I ended up using Frida for the last half of the battle. She’s not bad! Also managed to Flash Guard a few times but using Frida had no relation to this. XD
. - So I beat up the boss without issue but I have a feeling that the story will dictate that we pretty much failed in protection the barrier. ……………………… Why is this story so predictable? Well, I didn’t anticipate this next part though. ^^
. - Why is everyone standing around and listening to his big ass speech? The boss could smack him into the ground right now! Dur. Homunculus reaction was stupid.
. - Ah, so it seems that < spoiler >Gruhda was using Riesa to get the Mask of the Sun by claiming it would help Eldeel control his dark side? Oh, and Leeza is a descendant of Lefance. I think Vanjo figured it out since she was able to use Sol Galva which has some connection to Lefance and the old Celceta Kingdom. Not quite sure why but I think it’s also mentioned that Gruhda is from Danan too or at least studied there or something?< /spoiler > Or maybe my crappy Japanese reading comprehension completely got that wrong? ^^
. - More explanations and discussions occur and Frida ends up accompanying the group. Bitch is going ahead to the group’s destination first. I bet she’ll get held hostage once she gets there. Adol’s gotta save at least one female character at some point in this game after all!! Speaking of which, I wonder if I missed an opportunity to escort someone back to some place? An escorting side quest has been in every new Ys game and remake so far.
. - Yay. Side quests for Danan are available now. And I’m stopping here for this log~
