Still questing!
Haven’t finished Lure of the Abyss yet since I wanted to clear out as many side quests as I can. I just got the Gold Idol from Symone from completing the Escort Duty quest. I missed it last time and got the Golden Egg instead because it took me forever to find her during the hide and seek sequence and I beat her in the race. 😛
She’s actually a bit more tolerable with the Japanese dialogue since her voice actress sounds cuter than the English one (which made her sound like the total arrogant snob that she is).
Now I’m off to do the side quests for both bandit groups. But before that, I must duplicate the Gold Idol. XD Gee, I just got over 1 million gold again and paying for the forgery costs around 185,000. ^^
- Fought a bunch of Phantasms at night at the Barta Crags and the Miasma Haunt but I was using arrows to shoot them down when they were floating around the marshes so I didn’t get any spoils. >_> I’ll try and lure them to land next time!
. - Pawns sure are dumb. I deliberately went onto the raft that was acting as a bridge between the small island and the “main land” in the Haunt but they STILL got debilitated. 9__9 I suppose I should wait for them to actually get onto the thing instead of running off . ^^
. - Just completed the 2 quests for the male and female bandits. Currently slaughtering rabbits for the quests that asks for 45 of them to be murdered.
. - LOL! A rabbit ran into a campfire and instantly died. ^^ I wasn’t even chasing it.
. - OMG. Now a wolf just ran off a cliff and into the water below. ^^
. - Good lord, now it happened to my friend’s pawn. I think she was trying to jump across a gap at Cobal Coast but fell short. >_> Thought I couldn’t revive her but it turns out the stream was shallow. ^^ And now, here’s a terrible photo thanks to my shaky hands!
I guess the harpies are trying to take a bath. They seem to be struggling though. ^^ - Just changed my pawn back to a Warrior. He was a Mage since the beginning of this playthrough. Let’s see how useful he’ll be because I find Warrior pawns to be kind of useless. But I guess their main purpose is to be a tank and take damage for the party. :E
. - Spent some money buying new equipment and weapons + enhancing them. I’m never satisfied with what I have in storage. :V
. - Ugh. An Armored Cyclops hit my friend’s pawn down a cliff and she died. She was the only mage in the party. Bleh. I kind of wonder why pawns don’t use curatives more often? Maybe I’m just a paranoid player but I constantly use healing items. ^^ During the first time through the game, half my inventory consisted of herbs and potions. XD
. - I was using a Ranger but I think I’ll stick with Magick Archer for a while. It’s probably my fave class after Mystic Knight. The hybrid classes are pretty spiffy! However, there are some Augments that seem useful for the Magick Archer as well. Hmm.
. - Back to the Everfall we go~ Ah, kind of forgot that telling pawns to “Come!” will cause them to pick up stuff and open chests and such. ….. Or not. They just keep jumping over the chests in the small room in the Ceremonial Cage.
. - Yay. Got the Wyrm Hunt License. Now to try and 3 star The Watergod’s Altar.
. - Actually did A Fortress Besieged first. Totally forgot where to get the handle. XD I’m glad I switched to Magick Archer since the Ricochet Hunter was able to take out the annoying goblins manning the balistas. My friend’s pawn died a few times because she kept getting hit by them. Stupid girl didn’t realize that she should have moved from the same spot. I eventually just picked her up and took her to another location myself. 😛
. - Hmm. Got a few escort quests available. I’m always wary of doing these. I do plan on placing more portcrystals around the world map so those should remove the dangers of travelling by foot!
. - It’s funny to listen to the Japanese track while reading the English text because it seems different. I’m glad Capcom didn’t get a translating team that opted for literal translations though. Also funny is how similar the English and Japanese goblins sound. ^^
. - You know, it’s really annoying how the game doesn’t know which map type to default to when checking locations of things for quests. I think, in most cases, it should be the area map unless you’re in the vicinity where the item(s)/enemy/enemies is/are. Anyway, just nabbed From a Different Sky 25 – 28. Looks like 23, 24, and one of the recent ones are in Soulflayer and the Catacombs. Fun times. Another few are at the Shadowfort. Whee.
. - Gonna drag my friend’s pawn around again. She’ll probably die 50 more times because she’s only level 8.
. - Ooh. Just drained the water at The Watergod’s Altar. My friend’s pawn hasn’t died yet!
. - Damn these stupid slates. Got 4 out of 5 so far but heading back to Gran Soren to drop other stuff off. I hate seeing the weight go to “Average”. XD Good thing I’m lugging around 2 portcrystals! Oh, if anyone needs a visual reference to the locations of the slates, IGN has screencaps.
. - Yay! 3 stars for the quest for my pawn! Yeah, I’m pretty sure that cyclops in the lower level did him in last time and I just went on with the quest without him. ^^ So now, he has 3 stars for every quest except the 3 that I missed last time. :3
. - Hmm. This is peculiar. My friend’s pawn only has 1 star for The Watergod’s Altar even though she was with the party throughout the entire thing. Never died once. I wonder why?
. - Completed The Cypher and currently on Seeking Salvation.
. - Fought a cyclops along the way to the Catacombs. It dropped 2 Misshapen Eyes????????
. - Ha. I mentioned in a previous post how the game always froze when certain stout undeads blew up in the Catacombs. I just used Ricochet Hunter (without a fire enchant) to kill them all. ^^
. - Guh. Forgot that some of the Badge of Vows were in the Catacombs. XD Just came across #23 while casually wandering around.
. - Chose the ending where Mason takes the fate of the guy into his own hands since I murdered the guy last time. I already did Mason’s other quest so there was no need for me to do it again. 😛
. - Gods, speaking to Fournival when he’s seated at the dinner table or whatever can be hilarious. Sometimes you’ll catch him locked in some animation that looks like he really needs to go use the bathroom. The fidgeting is so brutal to watch ^^;;;;
. - Finally started Come to Court.
. - I wonder if there are any jesters in any fantasy RPGs that are NOT annoying? I wouldn’t be surprised if I picked up the guy and threw him against the wall in the previous playthrough which caused me to miss all of Aelinore’s quests.
. - You know, it doesn’t seem like the griffin by the castle appears before this part of the game. I ran through the fields so many times during the morning – afternoon and never encountered it. 😦 I want to fight a griffin. 😦 😦
. - OMG. YES. I got the camera pan when I exited the castle! To the Duchess!!! Haha. My Arisen looks kind of cute with the jester’s hat. ^^ D’oh! Can’t change the language track while in game. 😦 I want to hear Aelinore’s English voice.
. - Damnation. Tried to get a photo of my Arisen during the cutscene a few times but the stupid tablet is too slow to take the photo cuz of the focusing.
Not sure I like Aelinore’s English voice.
. - Let’s see if I can do Arousing Suspicion without getting caught. I have the uncanny ability to fail at this sort of stuff. XD
. - Â I did it! ^o^ Managed to get to the destination without any guards noticing. :3 Holy crap! This cutscene!! Damn. X____x
. - Reading ahead at the Wikia about the next quest with the Duchess. This made me laugh: “Fun fact: you can kill guards by throwing Aelinore at them.” I kind of want her to be the beloved this time around so I’ll probably refrain from that. ^^
