Ahoy! I started my New Game+ yesterday with the determination of completing the side quests that I missed from the previous playthrough. They are: Arousing Suspicion, Duchess in Distress, and Bad Business. I’m not sure how people can NOT miss Bad Business since it sounds like you have to enter Madeleine’s Shop to trigger it? I rarely ever go into it even though I’m always in that vicinity because of The Black Cat.
I’m also out to max out some of the knowledge of locations for my Pawn. Actually, I might not be able to since I think 2 out of the 4 require post-game quests and I’m not sure I’m going to stick around until the very end. But if I intend to get the trophies I missed during the very last part of the game then I’ll probably have to. .___.
Anyway, I may be updating this post through the day since I’m playing the game now. XD
Spoilers!
- EGADS!
It was originally (as in, from the 1st playthrough) 2 males and 2 females. D: I’m not sure who the other 3 ladies are that have maximum affinity. X_X I know Madeleine is now blushing and Selene is at the Arisen’s house. Maybe it’s still counting Quina even though she no longer blushes or has a pink aura?
(See previous DD: DA post regarding Quina. XD) But then, that’ll still be only 4.
- You know, I think it’s kind of disturbing to think of Fournival as a possible love interest … especially given that rolling around on the ground and kissing scene. ^^; Incidentally, my Arisen is female but I’m all for same-sex relationships! I mean, I got Mercedes the first time around. :B I just have to think of who to give the Arisen’s Bond to for this playthrough. 😡
. - I took an escort quest for Caxton which had him needing to go to Hillfigure Knoll. Since I had a Portcrystal there, I just teleported. XD It triggered the cutscene with the Dragonforged which caused Caxton to end up in the guy’s home. ^^;
. - With all the blushing going on, I now have access to new items and equipment in Caxton and Reynard’s stores. XD Too bad I didn’t opt to farm for Wakestones in The Everall post game because now, with all the enhancements I randomly do even though I don’t need to, I’m back down to 170,000 (from 1 million or so) gold. 😦
. - I thought about changing the look of both my Arisen and Pawn upon New Game+, but I didn’t. I did give a bit more makeup to my Arisen and make my Pawn beefier, darkened his hair, selected different facial hair, and changed his voice though. I kind of regret the latter since he now reminds me of a friend’s Pawn so I associate that voice with him. But hey, there’s that guy at the Encampment that sells those modification items so I’ll probably get something so I can change the voice back.
. - I just got to Gran Soren having completed Off With Its Head. I guess I’ll try and do as many side quests as I can before speaking to the Duke for money & EXP. I only have 2 stars for A Troublesome Tome for some reason.
. - Oops. Didn’t realizing that leaving the game at the pause menu with the PS3 XMB menu overlay active doesn’t mean the in-game time is stalled. My characters stood at the inn from morning to night as a result. XD
. - Woo. Changed the voices to Japanese for fun. XD I think I like Reynard’s JP voice more than its English counterpart. Incidentally, I do enjoy the voice acting in this game quite a bit except for random guards and bandits.
. - Kind of wish the game doesn’t force you to go to Bitterblack Isle. I mean, the notice that the island has appeared will keep showing up and the marker will stay on the map UNTIL you agree to go there. 9___9 So now, I’m wandering around Bitterblack Isle again with my pawn. :B Going to be trying most of the game without expanding the party to 4 people. :3
. - Man, all the new stuff that’s available costs over 1 million gold. 😛 *eternally poor*
. - There sure are a lot of Throwblasts around Bitterblack Isle. ^^ Whoa! Just found a chest with 10 Blast Arrows! *___*
. - Wandered into Duskmoon Tower and I don’t think I want to try fighting the drake with … actually, I should see how terrible this fight is. After I exited the room and went back in, 2 chimeras took the place of the drake. ^^ Would be easier without the fucking wargs though.
. - Dammit. Need extra people cuz inventory is filling up fast. ^^ Oh yeah, defeated all the enemies in the room.
. - Rarified a shield. Need diamonds for other stuff and have none.
. - Bah, on my way back to Olra and encountered a cyclops. Easy picking though because I’m at level 71 now. XD Ooh! A Daggerist’s Ring via purification. Cool! Sure, I pick up a quest to defeat 5 wargs now. I must have killed about 10 of them by now. >__>
. - Bought the Secret of Metamorphosis and changed the voice of my pawn. :E
. - Baw. Going to The Ruins of Heavenspeak Fort from The Great Wall doesn’t work. XD Wasted a ferrystone for this. Gonna try going through Soulflayer Canyon but can’t remember if there’s some barring the passage to the west side from the east or vice versa.
. - Ugh. Hired a seemingly useless pawn. Wish he wasn’t a Medicant. ^^ Oh well, he’s there as a mule anyway.
. - Yay. Made it out of Soulflayer. Now to head back to the fort. 😛
. - ARGH. Forgot to change my pawn’s outfit. Got attacked when I tried to speak to Ophis. ^^ Reloading from a checkpoint. 😦
. - Sticking with 2 additional pawns (re: mules) now. Less EXP although I DID hire people 30 levels below me. ^^ Not sure I should have gone even less. ^^ Oh yeah, I’ve been trying to hire my friend’s pawn but can’t seem to do it. He’s already verified that his setting should allow me to hire her. And he’s even made sure to sleep at an inn too. Weird. 😦
. - Ooh. After quitting the game and going back in, his pawn is now available to me! Level 2. XD Haha. This character is going to die constantly. ^O^;
.
Another ooh! I got 3 stars for A Troublesome Tome after speaking with Ophis. I guess I took the other route last time although I don’t ever recall rescuing Rowland.Well, it’s not like I have a good memory anyway. ^^
.
Ha. His pawn maxed out on the quest when I handed over the tome to Steffen. ^^;
. - Got access to the From A Different Sky quests. Since I have all the badges that I got from the previous playthrough, I just shoved them into my inventory and the quests are instantly completed! ^o^
. - Master Thief sure is a fun skill … except for the fact that enemies need to be grappled or hit with blinder or sleeper arrows for it to work. >_>
