  • From November 1st until November 13th, special login bonuses will be available in addition to the regular ones. Also within this period, all players will be given 1 free summon draw a day for 1 ability card.

  • Facebook campaign for sharing an event-corresponding post 888 times. When the goal is met, everyone will receive 88 Ability Tickets.
  • Third exploration map (http://altema.jp/ffmobius/hunterisland-3817) and second set of Skill Panels (panels 5 – 8) will be implemented on November 8th.
  • FF Type-0 summon cards campaign from November 8th – 23rd. See details at http://altema.jp/ffmobius/zerohdcollabo-3196
  • Hashmal and 3-star battles will be added in multiplayer on November 10th.  http://altema.jp/ffmobius/hasyumarimu-9996 The suggested jobs and decks aren’t really relevant to global though.
  • New event running from November 17 until December 14: Collective Limit Break!

    The map is divided into 3 regions; each one grants a boost in deck level for one specific class. However, you can still use another class, such as a Warrior in a Ranger region, but the Warrior won’t receive the bonus boost. In the Japanese version, unlocking one of the locks at the top of the map was determined by the number of players using a certain job class, I believe.   • New Echo costumes along with Chef/Cook Tonberry and FF Type-0 Class Second Moogle in the Spirit Grove. Class Zero and Class Third Moogles can also be obtained. The former is from the event map and the other one … Well, in JP, players had to collect 10 of each key item from Colossus enemies to receive it. Since there’s been changes in global events already, I’m not sure this method will still be the case. :\

    Echo, Echo, and Echo. I believe the Pirate Echo is gained from completing the third exploration area though.

  • On November 24th, AOE (area of effect) + Break Defense Down cards along with other currently unnamed ones will be added. Former summon draw-only cards, Carbuncle, Alexander, and Doomtrain, will appear in the Ability Shop from this point on as well.

This is what shows up once you finish the entire map. I’m not sure what やりこみ means though. Google Translate says it’s “Crowded” so it’s Crowded Dungeon?? Seems weird. .__. Also, I wonder if the text was actually meant for Part 2. ^^;

Whew, I’m finally done with this infernal lock-infested map. While locks are certainly nothing new in the world of Mobius Final Fantasy, Chapter 6 Part 1 is patterned after the Hall of Fame where specific objectives are found on each one so you’ll encounter them along almost every single path.

However, unlike the Hall of Fame, all attempts are counted toward the target goal so if you don’t meet the conditions the first time, you can replay the same area again until you do. The only exception is the node before the final battle with a Sicarius. The task for that lock is to score a single hit against the boss that reaches 300,000 or higher in damage.

I wrote about the joys of attempting to accomplish that with Ifrit in my initial post about Chapter 6.

One thing I didn’t mention in that post was that Chapter 6 Part 1 was to be released in 2 separate segments. The top half of the map, which featured Shiva and Ifrit, came out on October 8th while the bottom half with Hamshal and Famfrit started a few days ago on October 22nd. Mobius Final Fantasy – First Anniversary Collections (art book)

I love the artwork from the game so I pre-ordered the book from Amazon Japan not long after it was announced by Square Enix. The shipping confirmation was received this Monday and it was delivered last night. *_* So fast~!

Anyway, I took some photos of some of the illustrations. Pardon the quality since I don’t have any professional tools or equipment to take incredible photos. ^^

There’s also commentary from Toshiyuki Itahana (character designer), Toshitaka Matsuda (art designer), and an interview with both Yoshinori Kitase and Naoki Hamaguchi, the producer and project leader of Mobius Final Fantasy respectively.

Please don’t request for certain illustrations. This is all I’m planning on sharing. If you like what you see, please purchase the book! For overseas customers, it costs 2593 yen. Along with shipping and import fees, the total ended up as 3773 yen. I haven’t checked what other retailers carry it aside from the Square Enix Japan e-Store and Amazon Japan though so there may be cheaper options. (The SE Japan store doesn’t ship internationally.)

Mobius Final Fantasy JP – Square Enix to release Mobius FF on Steam next month!

Updated on October 31st: The game is set to be released later today (November 1st in Japan) after maintenance ends. Current estimated time will be after 10:00 AM Japan Time.

Edit #2: Per this tweet, the Windows version will run at 60 frames per second and players will be able to choose between SD, HD, full HD, and 4K resolutions (depending on your video card and monitor).

Mobius Final Fantasy JP – Chapter 6 and My Problem with Ifrit

Or “Wow. Really? We’re supposed to clear Chapter 6 with this job? Okay then. ┐(´~`)┌”

Perhaps the biggest issue is that Chapter 6 restricts you to using only Meia jobs so if you didn’t manage to draw the superior job, Fauvist, from the Meia-themed summon draw that accompanied the release of the new story chapter, you’ll be stuck with the freebie job, The Azure Witch.

It’s decent as all stats are pretty balanced and it also has a wide range of auto-abilities, but it honestly doesn’t feel like it’s enough to tackle the new map — especially on Hard difficulty and for the area objective that requires dishing out 300,000 HP of damage on Ifrit. You can see players at the Altema wiki expressing difficulty in achieving the goal. (Comments are toward the bottom of the page.)

Mobius Final Fantasy JP – October Update Summary

Updated October 4th: Corrected information regarding the Job Card Reboot, Celestriad (the Three Stars item) and Ultimate Card.

I’m still unsure about the ability card level limit though so take it with a grain of salt. The example on the official site and the one in the stream are different. The explanation on the site isn’t that clear either.

Mobius Final Fantasy JP – 2★ Odin Battle (All Attacker)

My initial intention was to attempt the battle using an Attacker with lowered stats* since I wanted to see how a job with just 4 skill panel pages would fare against the boss. I have since discovered that this wasn’t possible as the game automatically restores the stats to maximum once you exit the deck menu. >_<

While I do have jobs that don’t have all 8 skill panel pages completed, they’re also ones that don’t have strong single target Earth cards. =__= This is what happens when you focus on developing ones that destroy regular mobs instead of bosses.

At any rate, this should give global players an idea of the amount of HP the boss has. ^^; The two Earth cards used will most likely not be available any time soon unless Square Enix decides to hold the FFXIII event earlier.

*Every job has a corresponding Medal that can be purchased from the Item Shop. The item allows a job to keep its maximum stats when the player selects any of its previous evolutions.
